FRAN I AM’s AUTHENTIC EXPRESSION

1940swoman

Today, I am SO proud to present a friend who is near and dear to my heart. We met via blogging over a year ago and fell hard and fast for each other. When we met for coffee during FranIAm’s visit to LA, it was as if we’d been friend’s offline for 20-years.

FranIam is an extraordinary dame, she’s deeply spiritual, irreverent, dark, light, funny, wildly intelligent and brutally honest, traits I love about her. Please welcome Dame FranIAm! Thanks Frannylicious.

Tell me about you: Your name, pseudonym, where you’re from and what your read is about?

FranIam is my pseudonym or “nome de blogge”. I was born in the boogie down BX also known as the Bronx, grew up in White Plains NY and now live just a little north of Albany, NY.  My read is about my crazy life and how I live it, about humor, faith, truth and hope.

What does being a woman mean to you?

Good question. I feel like being a woman is about the very seat of all creativity. I do not think that men are superior to women – nor do I think women are superior to men. We are the same yet very different. Being a woman is about evolution and new life – not only through birth, but through art and all kinds of creativity.

Have you, are you, or will you reinvent yourself and, of course, what does reinventing yourself mean to you?

Oh that is a long story for me. In 2007 I finished up a 20 year plus career as a senior executive, I got married for the first time at 49, I became a step mother and I moved north to Albany. Today I am a 51 year old suburban step mom, graduate student in theology, a church secretary, a blogger and writer. So my whole life has changed and reinventing is just the tip of the iceberg. I feel like I am becoming the person I was always meant to be. It is all part of the creative process. And thanks to this process – I know you!
